From The MagicBox: Konami has released a new preview trailer of Silent Hill 4: The Room, the PS2 version is scheduled to release in Japan on June 17, for 6800 yen. The trailer is here, but it’s compressed with LZH on top of the horrible WMV format. I guess Konami doesn’t really want people to see it. |
Post E3 Madness
I’ve returned mostly intact from E3, and will post my thoughts shortly. Here’s a bunch of random, unrelated news from the past week.
- Thanks to forums member Carl for pointing out a trailer for Dead Rush, a new action-horror-driving hybrid. Looks interesting.
- The Possession web site now has screenshots and more information than before.
- Polygon Magazine has posted new screens and info from Resident Evil 4. This game was amazing to play.
I promise details of my trip after my legs knit and I catch up on all the spam I received while away.
Off to E3
I am off to E3 today, so updates will be slow for the rest of the week. However, I’ll post a detailed report when I return. In the mean time, check out Die Zombie Die, a neat survival horror site by forums member spookycreepy!
The Silent Hill 4 Screens Continue
The MagicBox has released yet more screens of Silent Hill 4. Will this game just hurry up and come out already!?
More Possession Info
HomeLAN.com has posted an interview with Blitz Games’s chief technical officer Andrew Oliver about their new game Possession. Also, the official site has been updated with more teaser information.
Survival Horror Turns on its Severed Head
Check out this teaser site for a new horror game to be unveiled at E3, apparently titled Possession.
Apparently, Possession allows you to play as a zombie hunting humans. From the site:
No more creeping about in the shadows.
No more conserving ammo…
Possession finally lets players
take control of the carnage
Yet Another Silent Hill 4 Movie

|
The MagicBox has posted links to a new Silent Hill 4 movie (Low, Medium, High), sadly again in WMV format. This movie shows some imagery that is considerably bloodier-looking than previous horror games, but gives very little information about how the game will be played. Since Silent Hill 4 comes out in about two months in Japan, I guess we’ll have more information soon. |
Splatterhouse PS2??
Rumor has it that the Splatterhouse series is about to get a new installment on PS2. Amazon.co.uk seems to have substantiated the rumor, though absolutely no details are available. Via Insert Credit.

I am pleased to announce that Nick, a regular on this site, has been generous enough to donate his extra copy of Hell Night. Nick went out of his way to provide other information for the site as well, including a whole CD full of screenshots, sound tracks, and information about horror games. Thanks Nick!
If you have extra horror games sitting around, consider donating them to the Quest.
Suffering Sequel Announced.
This just in from The MagicBox:
Midway announced they are working on a sequel to its popular horror adventure game The Suffering.
