IGN posted a preview of X-Files: Resist or Serve, which I totally missed until today. I’ve grabbed some new screens of the game, which is looking much better than the early screenshots released last year. It appears that the Xbox version of the game has been canceled, but the PS2 version is slated for release this coming Tuesday the 16th. |
IGN has a release date for PS2 for this game as March 9th! Its definately not in stores yet. Hmm…
According to EBGames and Gamestop it’s March 16th. Thats only 1 week away! Yay. Ive never thought about X-Files being teamed with survival horror, but it seems like a natural pairing.
2 bad things:
A) The price point for this game is 29.99 USD. Not necessarily bad but…
B) Vivendi isn’t releasing advance copies for review. Thats not a good thing. Maybe they’re being ultra secretive like they were with the TV show, but I dont think so.
Yeah, no advance copies can mean they expect it to be reviewed poorly and thus want to slow reviewers. On the other hand, they may simply be releasing it at a lower price point because the show isn’t nearly as popular as it was when the game began development and they are trying to ensure enough sales to break even. I guess we’ll know next week.
I cant decide whether or not to just go out and buy this…I dont want to wait until Friday or next week or whatever for a review. Im so impatient.
On the other hand, I still havent finished lifeline or suffering yet…

1) I just went to EBGames, and this game wont be available til tomorrow (Wed. 3/17) morning.
2) On second thought a low price point and no advance copies is not necessarily bad. Apparently Evil Dead: Fistful had a price point of only 20 dollars and had no advance copies, and it wasnt terrible. Hmm. At least fanboys (X-Philes?) are going to be all over this one.
