Message Policy

I’ve decided to announce my feelings about the public boards I maintain on this site. I am absolutely against censorship, and I will not erase messages on the basis of profanity alone. However, I will erase messages that have no constructive value. The boards are intended for discussion and opinion, but I won’t tolerate messages along the lines of “user x sucks!” If someone posts an opinion about a game that you do not agree with, please respond in a clear manner. Simply calling them names is a useless practice, and is a good way to get your message erased. Anyone making racist, sexist, or otherwise bigoted comments will be permanently banned.

If you want to get into a fight, use the forums and contain it to its own thread. Don’t waste the rest of the world’s time with flames.

If you have questions about this policy, please drop me a line.

Silent Hill Impressions

Now that Silent Hill 4: The Room is out in Japan, the big online sites are weighing in on the game. Both GameSpot and IGN have previews, with IGN’s being the better of the two.

In its first couple of hours, Silent Hill 4: The Room provides enough creepy moments to disturb even those who think they’ve seen it all on the horror gaming screen. It’s not scary — at least not so far; it’s just strange, gruesome and chilling enough that we’ve been unable to take our eyes off it.

Silent Hill 4 Extras Revealed

Insert Credit has the scoop on Silent Hill 4 additions:

A different sort of audio CD is being included with the japanese release of Silent Hill 4: The Room. This time it’s to be a series of horror stories by Ryuzai Sadamizu (?), set to original music by the creator of the OST. Sadamizu is, according to the itmedia report, a living national treasure. This CD is not currently planned for release outside of japan.

Hopefully the Western versions will include something similar.
